Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Robert Rath (Sylvester Stallone) is a veteran assassin who is about ready to quit the game when his path crosses a beautiful mark named Electra (Julianne Moore) and a crazed young assassin named Miguel (Antonio Banderas).

Featured Feline: The female surveillance expert and thief, Electra, is a cat lover and as such she is almost always accompanied by her feline companion, a Maine Coon cat named Pearl.

Pearl appears in many scenes throughout the film, including the scene which introduces us to Electra.

Electra even takes Pearl to work with her in the hotel where she is going to be turning over information for money.

Robert tries to help Electra but she is not trusting anyone when the assassins both show up and ruin the transaction.  Robert gets a hold of Pearl and takes her to the pet shop on the carrier’s tag.  This way he is able to track down Electra.

This is fortunate for Electra because Robert shows up in time to save her from Miguel.

Electra is frustrated when Pearl shows a fondness for Robert.

Eventually Robert and Electra work together and Pearl goes right along with them to Puerto Rico, although she is absent for the last half hour of the movie.

Pearl is credited in the film as playing herself, but her looks are very similar to cat actor Elvis (who appeared with Stallone in the film The Specialist and also the remake of Disney’s That Darn Cat.)  The head animal trainer credited in the film is Mark Echevarria, who also worked on That Darn Cat, so if this isn’t Elvis moonlighting as Pearl then it is likely a related cat or one of the team who worked on the previous movies.

Final Mewsings: Cats can relate to killers.
