Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains a spoiler for this film!

Synopsis: In the small town of Darkness Falls a malevolent tooth fairy torments those who happen to catch a glimpse of her.

Purr Blur: In one scene a woman named Caitlin (Emma Caulfield) pulls into the parking lot of the hospital where her little brother is staying.  She sits in the car as the camera pulls in, telling herself “I can do this.”  Suddenly a black cat jumps out of nowhere onto the hood of her car and screeches, scaring her in a cliché spring-loaded cat moment.  After the initial shock she laughs and says, “Black cat.  Why not?”

This is considered to be one of the best scares of the movie.  The filmmakers and writers commented on how there was a larger subplot involving a nurse who feeds the cats in the hospital parking lot which would have explained the presence of the cat if not why the cat would jump on the car like that.

Final Mewsings: Because black cats like to throw themselves on the hoods of cars to scare people.
