Synopsis: Mike (Mos Def) is left in charge of his dad’s video store but a freak accident caused by his friend Jerry (Jack Black) wipes out all the VHS tapes.  To remedy the situation, the pair refilm the movies themselves.

Purr Blur: The first movie the guys refilm (or ‘swede’) is Ghostbusters.  During the scene in which the Ghostbusters are battling the evil demon Jerry opens a refrigerator door.  An orange tabby cat jumps out.

The cat runs around the floor while they “shoot” him with their proton rays made of tinsel and fishing line.  The cat actor is named Buster and the actors were trained on how to shake the “rays” so as not to bother the cat.

Final Mewsings: Cat actors are down for low budget remakes.
