Synopsis: Lucy (Lucille Ball) finds herself having to cancel a trip to San Francisco and care for a house full of sick and injured people, not to mention Harry the cat who is expecting kittens.

Featured Feline: The cat in question is a beautiful long-haired calico owned by Lucy’s daughter Kim (Lucie Arnaz).  Kim brings Harry over to Lucy’s hoping her mother can catsit while she goes boating.

It is explained that the reason the cat’s name is Harry is because Lucy thought as a kitten “he” resembled Uncle Harry.  Kim tried to change the name to Harriette but the cat would only respond to the name Harry.

Lucy reminds Kim that she had plans to go out of town, but then Lucy spots that Kim is coming down with a cold and insists she and Harry stay there.

Plans to have Uncle Harry (Gale Gordon) watch over both Kim and Harry the cat are ruined when Uncle Harry manages to trip over the cat and flare up an old knee injury.

Mary Jane (Mary Jane Croft) has shown up with a broken hand and manages to break the other one, causing Lucy to cancel the trip.

Harry the cat is only seen in the first half of the show.  After that she still remains active in the story, albeit via fake meows from offstage.

Final Mewsings: Fortunately Harry the cat did not need to depend on Lucy to be her midwife.
