Synopsis: The sweeping Civil War epic follows the story of Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh) and her on again / off again relationship with Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) and the large cast of characters who come in and out of their lives.

Kitty Cameos: Early in the film when Scarlett is told to take a nap after the barbecue at Twelve Oaks, an establishing shot is shown of a sundial outside the plantation which reads “Do not squander time. That is the stuff life is made of.” In front of the sundial two cats are sleeping in the shade.

Much later, after Rhett and Scarlett have a serious falling out, Rhett travels to London for an extended trip and takes their daughter, Bonnie Blue (Cammie King Conlon). Upon their return, Bonnie runs into the house and up the staircase to greet her mother. She is carrying a black and white kitten with a white ribbon around its neck.

Bonnie explains that her daddy gave her the kitten. Scarlet touches the kitten briefly but is more concerned by the cold greeting Rhett gives her. She sends Bonnie upstairs with Mammy (Hattie McDaniel).
