Take Her, She’s Mine (1963)

Take Her, She's Mine DVD

Twentieth Century Fox
Starring:
Jimmy Stewart, Sandra Dee, Audrey Meadows
Directed by: Henry Koster

Synopsis: Frank Michaelson (Jimmy Stewart) is called upon by the school-board for which he works to explain a series of scandalous newspaper articles in which he is featured. He explains to the board, by means of flashbacks, how each of the incidents is tied in to his attempts to protect his college-aged daughter, Mollie (Sandra Dee,) which ultimately led him into the series of wacky misadventures.

Kitty Cameo: This is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance. When Frank Michaelson finds out his daughter, Mollie, plans to go to Paris on an art scholarship, he imagines several different worrisome scenarios, one of which includes his daughter being romanced by a slick-looking Frenchman who is kissing her up and down her arm while she looks bored. And for some reason she has a small white kitten sitting on top of her head! It’s possible the kitten could be a reference to Fellini’s film La Dolce Vita in which an American actress walked the streets of Rome with a white kitten on her head.

Final Mewsings: Kittens are all the rage for women being seduced in Paris this year.
