Paramount Pictures
Starring:
W.C. Fields, Kathleen Howard, Jean Rouverol
Directed by: Norman McLeod

Synopsis: Harold Bissonette (W.C. Fields) is a henpecked store owner who dreams of owning an orange grove in California.  When he comes into an inheritence he has the means to make his dreams come through, that is if his family doesn’t kill him first!

Purr Blur: At the very beginning of the movie, Amelia Bissonette (Kathleen Howard) is reading the telegram about her husband’s uncle’s poor health.  She is standing in the dining room with their daughter Mildred (Jean Rouverol) and son Norman (Tommy Bupp).  A tuxedo cat is sitting on a chair at the table in the foreground.  Amelia tells her daughter to get the cat out of the dining room.  We see Mildred reach for the cat and then it is not seen again throughout the rest of the movie, not even when the family packs and moves to California.
