Synopsis: The first in the popular series of films about Nick (William Powell) and Nora Charles (Myrna Loy), a retired detective and his rich wife who find themselves being drawn back into the world of solving crimes, this one involving a missing eccentric inventor who is suspected of murder.

Purr Blur: At one point in the film Nick decides to investigate in the warehouse where the inventor worked.  He takes Asta with him and a taxi cab drops them off.  As they enter the dark building, a white cat with black markings can barely be seen sitting on the floor.  Asta barks at the cat and it jumps up onto some crates and disappears never to be seen again.
