Synopsis: Newsreel footage shows children in South Melbourne in a frenzy to collect neighborhood cats for a cat show.

Reality Cats: The posts about the upcoming cat show sends kids scrambling through the streets grabbing any stray cat they can find.  We suspect the contest holders were actually intending for kids to bring their own cats.

Despite all the craziness beforehand the cat show itself seems to have gone off nicely with the cats behaving well.  Or maybe the corralled kitties were all just in a state of shock.

Final Mewsings: South Melbourne cats still remember this as “The Day the Kids Went Crazy.”
