Synopsis: While visiting San Francisco to attend her niece’s wedding, Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) ends up investigating a nightclub murder of which her future nephew-in-law is accused.

Kitty Cameo: Lt. Floyd Novack (Harry Guardino) is assigned to the case and becomes exasperated when Jessica insinuates herself in the investigation.  She even has the audacity to appear at his apartment early one morning, waking the man up.  Begrudgingly he invites her in for coffee.  As she enters his home she sees an orange tabby cat sitting on a chair.  She walks over to the chair and comments about what a pretty cat she is and asks what her name is.  Lt. Novack sarcastically answers, “George!”

Jessica picks up the cat and pets it for a few moments before setting it down on the floor.

Final Mewsings: Even hard-boiled police lieutenants love cats!
