Synopsis: Straight-laced university Professor Immanuel Rath (Emil Jannings) is concerned when he learns some of his male students are frequenting a nightclub called The Blue Angel and have become enamored with the singer Lola Lola (Marlene Dietrich). When The Professor falls under the spell of Lola Lola himself it may lead to his ruin.
Purr Blur: The second time the Professor visits the club we see him walking down the dark streets. A black cat can be seen crossing in front of the man (perhaps foreshadowing the bad luck that will eventually befall him).
The cat jumps up into an open window and disappears.
Final Mewsings: Cats and nightclub singers are both creatures of the night.
