Synopsis: Approximately two hours in the life of Cléo (Corinne Marchand), a singer who is anxiously awaiting the results of some medical tests, shown in real time by avant garde director Agnès Varda.

Kitty Cameo: In the opening scene Cléo is seen consulting with a psychic (Loye Payen) who uses tarot cards to do her readings.  Behind Cléo a black and white cat can be seen in a couple of shots.

Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers):  In Cléo’s apartment there is a large amount of kittens with one mother cat.  Mostly the kittens are in the background, running around and stealing the scene whenever they appear.  In particular a black kitten is cavorting and playing in the background when Cléo and her assistant Angèle (Dominique Davray) first enter.

The black kitten chases after and plays with Cléo’s dressing gown as she moves to sit on her bed.

There are often several kittens on her bed and two of them are visible as she lays down.

Cléo pets one of the kittens and then kisses it affectionately.

A sleepy kitten rests on a pillow when Cléo’s lover (José Luis de Vilallonga) shows up briefly.

The kittens continue to be a presence in the background when Cléo’s friends Bob, the pianist (Michel Legrand) and Plumtif, the lyricist (Serge Korber) arrive for rehearsals to go over some new songs.

Finally a kitten sits on Bob’s shoulder when Cléo decides to leave.
