Warner Bros.
Starring:
Donald Woods, Margaret Lindsay, C. Aubrey Smith
Directed by: Robert Florey

Synopsis: Juan Cesare (Donald Woods) is the last of the notorious Borgia family of Italy and as such feels cursed.  On the advice of psychiatrist Dr. Lytton (C. Aubrey Smith) he pens a play about the Borgias and then falls in love with Florence (Margaret Lindsay) who is cast a Lucrezia.  But the curse seems to continue when a murder is committed.

Featured Feline: The actress, Florence, is the owner of a beautiful black Perisan cat she calls Fluffy.  We first see Fluffy when the cat is brought in to Florence during her initial meeting with Juan as she is cast in the lead role in his play.

Fluffy next turns up in Florence’s dressing room as she prepares to go on stage.  Fluffy is sitting on her dressing table and when Florence enters she greets the cat and picks it up to give it a hug before setting it back down on the table.

This is almost a Kitty Carnage warning because when she picks up the cat it digs its claws into the table and so she literally has to rip it from its place!  (Note: the sound in this clip has not been enhanced in any way, this is the way it was recorded in the movie!)

Finally Fluffy is seen during one of the last scenes when Juan and Dr. Lytton are looking for Florence and question a woman at a mask and costume shop.  Fluffy appears from another room and so they know Florence is there.

Final Mewsings: It should have been clear that Fluffy did NOT want to be picked up!.
