Synopsis: Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) leaps into the body of Mississippi Sheriff Archie Necaise who is in the midst of helping residents evacuate his town before the impending devastation of Hurricane Camile.

Kitty Cameo: When Sam leaps into the body of the Sheriff he finds himself holding a cat.

He reacts to the situation with confusion.

Sam is startled when he hears the Sheriff’s girlfriend say a hurricane is coming.  A newspaper flies into his face and scares the cat, which jumps out of his arms and runs away.

The cat, whose name is Boots, belongs to his former girlfriend Lisa (Tracy Kolis).  She eventually calls the cat back into her car and that is the last we see of Boots, even though Lisa shows up again later.  Apparently she leaves Boots sitting in the car in the hurricane.

A publicity still showing Scott Bakula holding the cat in this opening scene was released for the episode.

Final Mewsings: Never leave your Boots out in a hurricane.
