Synopsis: The gang desperately tries to protect their dogs from the dog catchers, who are rounding up stray pups due to a distemper outbreak. Farina (Allen Hoskins) adopts a brave stray dog which is eventually caught and the kids must raise five dollars in one hour to save the canine from being gassed.
Kitty Cameo: In one seemingly unrelated scene a mother leaves her child alone in a high-rise office. For some reason a black kitten is also in the office.
The kitten walks over to the window, jumping up onto the sill and then out onto the ledge where he wanders around.
The young child follows, setting up a dangerous situation in which Farina’s dog spies the child and runs to the rescue. The kitten, however, is not seen again.
Final Mewsings: Kittens apparently don’t need rescuing.
