Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Katherine ‘Kitty’ Lorraine is a successful vaudeville aerialist in a husband / wife act but she bows out of performing when she becomes pregnant.  When her husband is killed she is forced out of show business by his family in order to raise her daughter Shirley (Maureen O’Sullivan).  Eventually Kitty breaks free from them and later comes back for her daughter, whom she drives to succeed in show business whether she wants to or not.

Purr Blur: At one point Kitty learns that her daughter Shirley has met a man (Franchot Tone) and takes action to drive him away.  She learns of this in a theater where she intercepts one of his love letters to Shirley.  In the background of this scene there are two kittens on a wicker basket.

The white one jumps down and runs toward the stage while the grey one remains on the basket.
