Synopsis: Janet Frobisher (Bette Davis) is a mystery writer living alone in the English countryside with her closest companion, a beautiful horse named Fury.  Her life becomes complicated when her husband returns unexpectedly, as well as a mysterious man named George Bates (Gary Merrill).  Janet and George end up having to work together despite their clear animosity towards one another and murder is in the air in the interesting thriller.

Kitty Cameo: George Bates goes to town to obtain some newspapers from a store run by Mr. Bigley (Reginald Beckwith).  There is a Maine Coon cat sitting on the store’s counter when George enters and Mr. Bigley pets the cat throughout the scene.

Final Mewsings: Cats aren’t particularly interested in human conversations unless they receive pets for the duration.
