Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: A historical drama based around events taking place in County Mayo in the 1880’s.  Capt. Charles C. Boycott (Cecil Parker) is an unreasonable landlord to the Irish farmers on his land, raising their rents and evicting whole families when they can’t pay.  Many of the townsfolk want to use force to seek justice.  Instead they adopt the new idea of fighting their nemesis with firm but non-violent means.  Leading the rebellion is Hugh Davin (Stewart Granger) who finds himself at cross purposes when he tries to protect Anne Killain (Kathleen Ryan) the daughter of a man who moves into the farmhouse of one of the evicted families.

Purr Blur: When Hugh runs to warn Anne’s father that head of the evicted family is out to harm him, Anne is seen exiting the farmhouse. Sitting in front of the house is a tiny black and white kitten, which seems fascinated by a group of chickens nearby.

The kitten’s attention is drawn to Anne as she passes, and then to Hugh as he runs into the scene.  Even though it’s in the background, the kitten’s focus remains on the actors in the foreground.
