Peg o’ the Mounted (1924)

Century Film
Starring:
Baby Peggy (Diana Serra Carey), Bert Sterling, Jack Earle
Directed by: Alfred J. Goulding

Synopsis: Peg (Baby Peggy) is a tiny girl living in a remote cabin in the Great White North.  An injured Mountie (Bert Sterling) finds his way to her cabin and she helps him inside.  When he tells her he’s in pursuit of a notorious moonshiner (Jack Earle), she dons the Mountie mascot uniform her father has given her and vows to bring the man in herself, even if she has to follow him to the end of the earth.

Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers) When Peggy helps the Mountie into her cabin, there is a mother cat and a very large group of kittens on the floor.  The kittens scatter somewhat when the people pass by but then gather again around the mother and what is probably a dish of milk or other food on the floor.  The cats appear off and on throughout the scene, sometimes jumping off the bed.

The Mama cat even gets a shot of her own, as she is seen lying on the bed washing her face.

Final Mewsings: As far as cats are concerned, the more the merrier!
