Synopsis: Based on a true story. Betty Anne Waters (Hillary Swank) puts herself through law school to help defend her brother Kenny (Sam Rockwell) who has been convicted of a brutal murder.
Purr Blur: At the beginning of the film the scene of the crime is shown. A camera pans through a mobile home which is splattered with blood. As the camera moves down a hall, we see a small room off to one side. Sitting on a chair is a cat which is not seen again after this.
Final Mewsings: Cats want nothing to do with crime scenes.
