Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Tommy Woodry (Bobby Driscoll) is an energetic boy with a wild imagination who loves to tell tall tales.  One hot night he sleeps on the balcony of his family’s Manhattan apartment and consequently witnesses a murder.  But as with the boy who cried wolf, Tommy finds it difficult to convince anyone of the truth, even his parents (Barbara Hale and Arthur Kennedy) which may prove deadly when the murderers realize Tommy is a witness.

Kitty Cameo: When Tommy goes to the police station to tell his story he is afraid to go inside at first.  Then he sees a small cat walk boldly up the steps and enter the building.

The Window cat

Emboldened by the cat’s example, and maybe a bit curious, Tommy walks into the building as well and watches as the cat walks into the Captain’s office.  Tommy then gets up the nerve to approach the front desk.

Final Mewsings: Cats can instill confidence.
