Cat Out of the Bag Alert: This review contains some spoilers for this movie.

Synopsis: Based on the story by Ernest Hemingway, an old fisherman (Spencer Tracy) devotedly plies his trade day in and day out, but he is finding it increasingly harder to compete with the younger fishermen.  Then the opportunity arises to catch a gigantic monster of a fish, and despite the fact of being all alone he tackles the challenge with all his strength, refusing to give in.

Kitty Cameo: After the old man’s epic struggle, he exhaustedly makes his way back home through the sleeping village, where the only creature stirring is an orange cat, which pauses a moment, sniffing around some chairs, before scurrying on.
