Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains slight spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: A slower-paced character study from the Coen Brothers.  Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is a folk singer performing in Greenwich Village, New York in that genre’s pivotal era of the early 1960’s.  He is a talented singer, guitarist and songwriter, but his lackadaisical attitude has a tendency to get him into trouble with his friends and associates as we follow his life for one week.

Cinema Cat: The cat in this film is an orange tabby whom we finally learn near the end of the movie is named Ulysses.  There are actually two different cats (possibly three, depending on differing theories about the highway scene) but we don’t want to give away too much here about the plot.  Three cats named Tigger, Jerry and Daryl actually played the parts, managed by trainer Dawn Barkan.  Undoubtedly Ulysses is the most prominent cat star to emerge in some time, and much press has already been written about the film, the cats and Dawn.
