Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film.

Synopsis: An original screenplay by Stephen King.  Mary Brady (Alice Kridge) and her son Charles (Brian Kraus) move to a small Indiana town.  Their house strangely seems to attract a growing number of cats, which they both fear.  In truth they are shape-shifting sleepwalkers, creatures which feed off the energy of virginal women.  When the evil pair target high school student Tanya Robertson (Mädchen Amick) they find an unwilling target and a town willing to fight back, including the feline population.

Cinema Cat: The lead cat, Clovis, was played by a feline named Sparks and shines as a true feline film star.  Clovis is the friend of police officer Andy Simpson (Dan Martin) and rides shotgun in his patrol car.  Clovis is aware of the fact that Charles is a sleepwalker and throughout the film plays a notable part in the action.  Highlights include the car chase in which Clovis detects that Andy has “cloaked” himself and his car, the loyalty he shows to Simpson even at the darkest hour and a pivotal role in the film’s climax.

Cat Cattle Call: This film is simply full of cats!  There are far too many to mention or note here, but if you don’t mind horror then this is definitely a must-see for any cat fan!

Sleepwalkers Cats

Kitty Carnage Warning! The opening scene is particularly disturbing for cat lovers, as it depicts numerous dead cats, plus there is violence against cats in various parts of the film, some quite gratuitous.  Cat fans be warned!  It’s dark but the overall film is decidedly pro cat!

Final Mewsings: There should definitely be more cats on the police force!
