Synopsis: Paul Matthews (Tate Donovan) and Diane Farrow (Sandra Bullock) are two nerdy scientists who have the chance to experiment with a potent love potion, the effect of which changes both of their lives.

Featured Feline: Paul owns a tabby cat which is first seen inside Paul’s stereo cabinet in his living room.

Shortly afterward, Paul is holding the cat above an overturned garbage can and scolding the animal, saying, “This is bad! Bad!” This sets up what is to follow, as Paul throws away the love potion sample given to him by the gypsy fortune teller as he is picking up the garbage.

After this there is a scene where the cat is with Paul on the couch. Paul pets the cat as he is talking on the phone.

Later the cat is seen sneaking into the kitchen to get into the garbage again.

As the contents of the can spill on the floor, some milk from a bottle drips onto the potion sample and the cat laps it up. A falling can startles the cat, keeping it from drinking more.
