Ms. Jackson (2000)

Music Artist: OutKast

Synopsis: Rappers André 3000 and Big Boi desperately try to repair their home while being hit with a violent rainstorm.

Kitty Cameos: The video, which has nothing much to do with the actual song, features the pair at their home full of animals on a sunny day. But the weather soon turns stormy (possibly because of the ire of the dreaded Ms. Jackson?) and the guys try to do much needed repairs and catch all the leaks coming through their roof. During all this several cats can be seen.

Many thanks to Nick Wale for letting us know about the cats in this video.

Dachshund Village (1961)

British Pathé

Synopsis: Newsreel footage showcases dachsunds in Gergweis, Germany.

Reality Cat: Amazingly a young tuxedo cat shows up in the middle of the newsreel, sitting atop a fence post with several dachshunds jumping up and barking at her. The cat swipes at them, keeping them at bay as a woman in the background watches.

One of the dachshunds then gets up on the fence (or was probably put there by the camera crew) and slowly approaches the cat, who is looking the other way.

The cat doesn’t appreciate the dog sniffing at her and lets him know.

Eventually the dachshund nudges the cat off the post and takes its place.

Final Mewsings: Someone certainly ended up in the wrong newsreel!

TVM Global Entertainment
Starring:
Tam Sempere Miro, Pedro García Oliva
Directed by: Manolito Motosierra

Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: The Lotus Cat Food company moves operations to Spain and continue to addict cats to their food, and to human flesh.

Cat Cattle Call: In the beginning of the film we see Arnie’s mother and Arnie (Pedro García Oliva) feeding El Gran Grizzly dry cat food to a tortoiseshell cat named Mr. Beasley.

Kitty Carnage Warning:  The cat suddenly goes into convulsions and dies. Arnie takes the dead cat to the Grizzly canning company and confronts Mr. Grizzly (Tam Sempere Miro) in front of his two workers Ted (Ricardo Pastor) and Bill (Manuel Rodriguez).

Several cats are present outside when Grizzly shuts down the factory. But the factory is then bought by an American representative of Lotus Cat Food and they begin operations using an all new grinding machine. Several cats are seen in shots throughout the film.

This works out well when an accidental death in the grinder, and the consequent eating of said person by the factory kitten, makes them realize how to raise profits.

When the Lotus Cat Food hits the shelves, the cats start attacking their owners, including one woman who is attacked by her many cats. According to IMDb, the actress was hurt in this scene when two of the cat actors started fighting with each other.

Arnie and his mother then feed a white cat they named Mr. Beasley the Second, who then turns on Arnie’s other and scratches her face.

Arnie then feeds the food to a black cat while Mr. Beasley the second is in a cage. After eating the Lotus Cat Food, the black cat also attacks his mother (well, he carries the cat over to her to make it look like it’s jumping on her face).

Kitty Carnage Warning:  Arnie grabs the black cat and smashes it against a wall before throwing it into a microwave and cooking it. This is all done with a very obvious fake cat. He then takes the dead body to the vet to have it checked out. He talks to a woman who is sitting waiting for the vet with her cat.

Things get particularly weird when they add a super addictive formula to the cat food which makes the cats go extra crazy and also turns them into monsters. Some computer generated cats attack a motorcycle gang who come to help. And it all gets muddled from there.

Final Mewsings: Cats like plots that make a little more sense.

She then releases the cat into the room of the Lord and Lady. The cat grabs Lady Matsudaira’s wig and runs away with it. But to show this, a very odd-looking and very obvious fake cat (most likely a person in a cat suit) is seen as a silhouette running away with the hair.
